ART IMAGE COUNCIL

PROMOTING NEW AND EMERGING ARTISTS

The young and emerging artists have to struggle to even express their art. There are thousands of Art training Institutes which train lakhs of new artists. When these artists graduate, they look around to find that they are nowhere in the business of Art. They do not get any kind of support of displaying their works due to restrictive costs. The exhibitions and galleries are very expensive for small artists. Besides, even if they participate in exposing their talent, they get very poor attention since most buyers look for famous artists’ work or they settle to buy only copies to be more cost effective.

We at Art Image Council have endeavour to support all such artists who need help in bringing them up in the Art arena. We have launched a website www.imageindia.org where we provide a platform to display their work at free of cost. We are planning to hold exhibitions for them at various places in India at a very affordable rate.

GOVERNMENT SUPPORT

We would seek support from Government for following assistance and regulation

  1. Since galleries are expensive and exhibitions are beyond affordability, government should allow all artists to work from home and display and sell from home. This should be done on all India basis
  2. Art and Crafts should be considered as an Industry and all special benefits should be provided that are being extended to all other industries and Start-ups.
  3. The GST on sale of art work should be exempted for up to Rs. 10,000 per item
  4. All State governments should support the cause of Art development in India, by organizing exhibitions for local arts and crafts. Annual functions can be organized as Arts festivals to encourage the small artists. Grant of funds can be granted to poor village artists to be able to commercialise their works.

Two years back, we had approached Ministry of Culture, Government of India to provide support so that we are able to promote the talent even from remote rural areas where there is abundance of talent lying unexplored. We have not received any support in this respect.

I am approaching you to provide us support in holding an open exhibition in the corridors of Connaught Place inner circle for one day. I have already talked to the New Delhi Traders Association who have no-objection provided there is approval from your kind self and the commissioner of NDMC.

I would request you to kindly give me an opportunity to meet you personally so that I can explain to you in details the mission and objectives of organization and support that we seek from you.

Kindly let me know the date and time suitable to you so that I can come and meet you

Looking forward to a positive response & with best wishes.
